Description

Benvenue Country Club operates as a private non-profit corporation and is a full service Country Club featuring an 18-hole Donald Ross Golf Course, Tennis Center, Junior Olympic Swimming Pool and cabana. The Club offers ala-carte fine dining, banquets, and meeting facilities for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In addition, the Club sponsors numerous Member social functions throughout the year.

Benvenue is located minutes from Downtown Rocky Mount, North Carolina on a pristine tract of land featuring lakes, streams, rolling hills and trees and greenery native to eastern North Carolina. The club was founded in 1922 and built on a part of the Bunn Farm, approximately 2 miles from Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

The Club grounds and golf course contain about 130 acres of gently rolling land. The original golf course had 18 holes with sand greens. These greens were rebuilt as grass greens in 1946. Several years after the construction of the golf course, small pine trees were planted at regular intervals completely surrounding the property line forming a natural "fence" now designated as the out-of-bounds line.


The front nine is comparatively "open" with few trees but all greens are well trapped. The back nine has more trees and penalty ditches and is longer than the front nine. The great and near great golfers who have played this course have all praised it as being truly a championship layout that requires considerable "greens reading ability" due to the small saucer like putting surfaces.

Amenities

Benvenue Country Club’s newly renovated Clubhouse has much to offer its members and sponsored guests. The Clubhouse offers the amenities of Member Dining Facilities, Banquet Facilities, Golf Shop, Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms and Swimming Pool.The swimming pool is the hub of activity for the children and adults during the summer months at Benvenue Country Club.
